Mongolia eSIM questions

Which eSIM plan is best for Mongolia?

It depends on how much data you use. For messages and maps, a small plan is enough. For video calls, streaming or hotspot, pick a larger or unlimited plan. All 33 plans are listed on this page, cheapest first.

How much does an eSIM for Mongolia cost?

Plans start at $2.99, and day passes start at $4.99 a day. You pay once, with no contract and no roaming charges.

Is there an unlimited data eSIM for Mongolia?

Yes. Unlimited plans give you full-speed data up to a daily amount, then slower speeds until the next day. Each plan shows its daily amount.

Can I choose how many days I need?

Yes. Day-pass plans let you pick any length from 1 to 365 days, priced per day.

Can I share my data with a hotspot?

Hotspot depends on the plan. Check the plan page before you buy.

When does my Mongolia eSIM start?

Your plan starts when the eSIM first connects to a network in Mongolia, not when you buy it. You can buy and install it days before your trip.

Does the eSIM come with a phone number?

Most plans are data only, so you keep your own number on WhatsApp, FaceTime and other apps. Plans with call minutes and SMS are listed under Full eSIM plans.

What is an eSIM?

An eSIM is a digital SIM card built into your phone. Instead of inserting a plastic card, you scan a QR code and the plan is installed in about two minutes.

When will I receive my eSIM?

Right after payment. The QR code and setup steps appear on screen and arrive by email, usually within a minute.

Which phones work with the Mongolia eSIM?

Most phones from the last few years: iPhone XS and newer, Google Pixel 3 and newer, Samsung Galaxy S20 and newer, and many more. The phone must also be unlocked. Check yours on our compatibility page.

Can I use my own SIM and the eSIM at the same time?

Yes. Keep your own SIM on for calls and texts, and set the eSIM as the line for mobile data.

Can I keep my WhatsApp number?

Yes. WhatsApp stays linked to your own number, so your chats and contacts don't change while you use eSIM data.

Do I need to turn on data roaming?

Yes, turn on data roaming for the eSIM line only. You won't pay roaming fees: the eSIM is prepaid and your home SIM's roaming can stay off.

How can I check my data balance?

Log in and open My eSIMs to see the data you have left and when the plan ends. You can top up from the same page.

What happens if I run out of data or days?

Your data stops until you add more. Top up from My eSIMs and you're back online in seconds, with no new QR code.

Can I get a refund?

If you haven't installed the eSIM, you can cancel it for a refund. If it doesn't work and our support team can't fix it, you get your money back.

What if I delete the eSIM or lose the QR code?

Your QR code is saved in My eSIMs and in your email. If you deleted the eSIM from your phone, contact support and we'll help you get connected again.
