How to install an eSIM on Android (Samsung and Google Pixel)

Android phones handle eSIMs a little differently depending on the brand. Here's how to set one up on the two most popular: Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel.
Before you start
- Connect to Wi-Fi.
- Check your phone supports eSIM and is unlocked. Our checker tells you in seconds.
- Have your SimOrbit QR code open on another screen, or saved as an image.
Samsung Galaxy
- Open Settings → Connections → SIM manager.
- Tap Add eSIM.
- Choose Scan QR code from service provider and scan your code.
- Tap Add (or Confirm) and wait for the download to finish.
- Back in SIM manager, tap the new eSIM and give it a name, like SimOrbit Travel.
Google Pixel
- Open Settings → Network & internet → SIMs.
- Tap Add SIM (or +), then Download a SIM instead.
- Tap Next and scan your QR code.
- Tap Download (or Activate) and wait a moment.
- Name the new SIM so you can find it easily.
Menu names can change slightly between Android versions. If you can't see these options, search your settings for eSIM.
Set up your lines
- Mobile data: choose your SimOrbit eSIM.
- Calls and SMS: keep your home SIM.
- Turn off automatic data switching, so your phone doesn't use your home SIM's roaming data by mistake.
When you land
- Open your SIM settings and make sure the SimOrbit eSIM is on.
- Turn on Roaming for the SimOrbit eSIM.
- Wait a minute while it connects to a local network.

One rule to remember
Don't delete or reset the eSIM while troubleshooting. Most eSIMs can't be reinstalled once they're removed. If you get stuck, contact us and we'll help.
